Job Summary
The ECCET Unit (Economics of Climate Change, Energy and Transport) has a vacancy for a post-doctoral researcher to work on the ICPA-SEI (Integrated Climate Policy Assessment-Scenarios and Economic Impact) project. This action is currently developing and assessing global and EU energy and emission scenarios, as well as exploiting and maintaining the related modelling tools.
The successful candidate will contribute to European-wide research projects in the field of energy and climate. She/he will also contribute to the improvement and application of energy models, with the purpose of carrying out ex-ante impact assessment of alternative policy options in those sectors.
He/she should have experience in Energy engineering, energy economics, environmental economics, software engineering, statistics. Good knowledge of the quantitative approaches for energy techno-economic assessment and modelling energy systems and emissions would be an asset.
Candidates must hold a doctoral degree or having fulfilled all the obligations to obtain a PhD (certified by the university) or having a minimum of 5 years research experience after the first university degree giving access to doctoral studies (which may include periods of training such as a masters degree) in a field relevant to the JRC's scientific activities.
A very good level of written and spoken English is essential and knowledge of at least one other EU language is compulsory.
